Find out here how we can guide you through your next appointment stress-free.
Many people find a visit to the dentist unpleasant or are even very afraid of it. You are not alone in this - we know the fear of the dentist well from our everyday practice. In our practice, it is particularly important to us to give you a feeling of security and trust. Here are some tips and ways in which we would like to help you deal with your fears.
Talk openly about your anxiety
Openness is the first step in overcoming your worries. We take the time and calmness to talk to you and talk about your fears. We will be happy to arrange a signal with you so that you can interrupt the treatment at any time or signal that something is hurting. This way you know that you are in control and we can respond to your needs immediately.
Get to know us first
A first appointment does not necessarily have to include treatment. We would like to invite you to an appointment to get to know us, where we can talk without obligation. This allows you to decide at your leisure whether the chemistry is right and whether you feel comfortable and in good hands with us. Our empathetic team will take the time to address your questions and concerns.
Understanding causes together
If you like, tell us about the causes of your anxiety. Have you had any unpleasant experiences in the past? We are happy to adapt our approach to avoid situations that could trigger unpleasant memories. In this way, we help you to process old experiences.
Communication is the key
Sometimes it helps to know exactly what to expect. We are happy to explain each treatment step to you in advance so that you can prepare for it. Transparency provides security and can help you to stay more relaxed. Don't hesitate to ask us anything that is on your mind.
Sedation
Sedation or twilight sleep is another way to calm you down. We offer this service in our practice. This option helps to reduce anxiety, stress and pain. We put you into a gentle sleep or twilight state. Please feel free to contact us.
Use relaxation techniques
Breathing exercises or meditation exercises can be a great help in finding inner peace. You can find simple instructions online that you can try out. We will be happy to help you find a method that suits you. With a little practice, you will find that these techniques help you to relax more.
Distraction from unpleasant noises
Distraction from unpleasant noises
Noises such as the buzzing of a drill can be unpleasant. We recommend that you bring your favorite music, an exciting audio book or your preferred music. This distraction often works wonders and creates a more pleasant atmosphere.
